Dye Time Kids — Bundle Dye with Plants

A clearly guided introduction to natural dyeing.

During the dyeing session, children design their own T-shirt with real plants, flowers, and natural materials.

We work with the bundle-dye technique:
lay, tie, steam, unwrap. The process is simply structured and easy for children to understand.

The group size is intentionally kept small.
This allows each child to work independently and receive support if needed.

After the design phase, the textiles are steamed for approximately 30 minutes.
During this time, there will be a break.

Please bring something for this break:
Snacks, drinks (water available on site) or a quiet activity (e.g., coloring book, pens, small game).

Finally, the textiles are unwrapped.
The shirts are still slightly damp and will be fully dried at home.

Each child also receives a brief care instruction for aftercare, so that the textile is properly treated at home.

Supervision
– one accompanying adult per child possible
– parents provide support if needed, do not actively participate

Clothing (important)
– please wear clothes that can get dirty
– natural dyes can leave stains that are not completely washable

Break (important)
– approx. 30 minutes during the steaming phase
– please bring your own snacks, drinks or activity
