Natural dyeing with plants – creative, sustainable & hands-on
Discover how vibrant colors emerge from plants, peels, bark, and leaves – and design your own textile in the Cosmaki natural dyeing studio. In this guided workshop, you'll learn the basics of plant dyeing and can try your hand at three different stations: indigo , bundle dyeing , and hand dyeing with plant colors .
No prior knowledge required – just curiosity and a desire to try something new.

Choose from our prepared selection of textiles – e.g. T-shirts, scarves, caps, socks, tablecloths – for an additional charge.

We work exclusively with textiles prepared by ourselves to ensure the colors last a long time.
Arrival
The studio is located in the Machwerkhaus in Cologne-Kalk (Dillenburger Str. 77c, 51105 Cologne).
Arriving by public transport is recommended (stops Köln Kalk Kapelle or Kalk Post).
Parking options in the surrounding area are limited.

Note: The workshop will take place with a minimum of 3 participants. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the workshop or find an alternative date together.

Free of charge up to 48 hours in advance, after that a 50% cancellation fee applies.
Your access to the studio
The beginner's workshop is the first step to working independently in the Cosmaki studio.
After participating, you can purchase a studio pass and use our dyeing stations outside of the workshops – for your own projects, at your own pace.
You will receive more information about the Atelier Pass directly in the workshop.

We want to demonstrate that sustainable design is possible even on a small scale – without pressure, with simple tools, and a lot of curiosity. That's why we're opening our studio to families who want to experience and try something together.
With us, children not only learn how color is created – but also that clothing has value.
