From the hotel to your home – the story behind our new sofa cushions

What if everyday objects were not simply thrown away, but transformed into something completely new? Our new sofa cushions tell exactly this story. They were once high-quality hotel napkins that were thrown out after the rental contracts expired, usually after 48 months of use. Instead of ending up in the trash, they are given a new life at Cosmaki - as stylish, sustainable home accessories.

Why hotel textiles?
Hotel napkins are made from particularly robust, durable materials. They are designed to withstand many washes without losing quality. These properties make them perfect for upcycling projects like our sofa cushions.

The upcycling process:
🔹 Selection & Rescue: We select high-quality, discarded hotel napkins.
Our partners: The Colonia laundry and the Fett laundry .
🔹 Dyeing with natural colors: Each pillow is dyed with natural dyes to create unique, vibrant color nuances.
🔹 Processing: Our sofa cushions are manufactured without offcuts (zero waste), so no material is wasted. In cooperation with Atelier Courage in Cologne, sustainable home accessories are created that are durable and conserve resources.

Why upcycling instead of buying new?
Huge amounts of textiles are thrown away every year, often before they have reached the end of their lifespan. Our approach is to use existing materials creatively and give them a second life. This not only saves resources, but also brings character and history to your interior.
